On Thursday, Feb. 22, CHAMPS Group Purchasing's non-profit parent organization, The Center for Health Affairs, held their 2018 Service Awards Breakfast at the Crown Plaza Cleveland at Playhouse Square. The ceremony honored 19 individuals for their years of service with the organization, including Christina Humble and Kelly O'Reilly who both received awards for three years with the CHAMPS GPO team.
Rounding out the list of recipients who were honored for three, five, ten and 15 years of service, was the organization's Director of Facilities Chris Nortz who received a standing ovation when he was recognized for his 35 years of dedicated service.
"As a director of facilities, there is nothing Chris can't fix," said The Center's Interim President & CEO Phil Mazanec. "He has meant a lot to this organization and half or more of what he does are things we can't see. And he's always there."
Recognizing many of the organization's team members, including several CHAMPS Oncology off-site employees, were not able to enjoy the 2018 Service Awards ceremony in person, Mazanec recorded a special message to off-site team members spread across the United States. "I appreciate you being here in spirit," he said. "We can feel it. You are an important cog in the success of our organization."
